This policy explains how DeskAlcove (deskalcove.com) handles information when you visit. It is a basic policy for an independent affiliate review site. It is not legal advice.
Who runs this site
DeskAlcove publishes research and reviews of compact standing desks and small-apartment work-from-home gear. The site is hosted by Hostinger.
What this site collects
If you only read pages, the server may still process technical data that hosting and security systems normally log, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested, and the time of the request. Hostinger processes that data to deliver the site, keep it online, and protect it from abuse.
If you leave a comment, WordPress stores the details you submit (such as your name, email address, site, and comment) and the comment’s technical metadata. Your email is not published.
If a contact form is added later, the message and any address you submit are used only to reply.
Cookies
WordPress and the host may set cookies that the site needs in order to work. That includes login cookies for administrators and comment cookies if you choose to save your name and email on the comment form.
Analytics
This section is a placeholder. If DeskAlcove later enables a traffic tool (for example Google Analytics or a similar service), that tool may set cookies and collect usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location, and device type. Until an analytics tool is turned on, no separate analytics product is described as active here. If that changes, this page will name the provider and what it collects.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links are affiliate links. Those retailers have their own privacy practices. When you leave DeskAlcove, their policies apply, not this one. I do not control cookies they set on their own sites.
Embedded content
Posts may later include embedded video or social content. Embedded content from other sites behaves as if you visited that other site and can collect data under their policies.
How long data is kept
Comments and their metadata are kept until the comment is removed. Server logs are kept according to Hostinger’s retention practices. If analytics is added, retention will follow that provider’s settings and will be noted here.
Who data is shared with
Hosting: Hostinger, to run the website. Affiliate networks or merchants: only if you choose to click an affiliate link and continue on their site. Analytics providers: none are named while this placeholder is in effect. Any future provider will be listed here. I do not sell personal information.
Your choices
You can disable cookies in your browser. Some features, such as logged-in admin access or saved comment details, may not work without them. You can ask to review, correct, or delete personal information you submitted in a comment, subject to records WordPress or the host must keep for security.
Children
DeskAlcove is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
I may update this policy as the site changes, including when analytics is added. The updated version will be posted on this page.
